Event Info

The US Surfski Championships is the premier surfski race on the US mainland. Paddlers are invited to participate in demo days featuring premier sponsors Epic, Huki, Nelo and Think and enjoy a pre-race pasta meal on Friday. Saturday events include the long course and short course single surfski races, and Sunday features a new, downwind course for the double surfski race.

Shuttle service is available for $10 (one-way) from the Berkeley Doubletree Hotel on Saturday morning at 9:15 and 10:45.

Seats are first come, first serve. Paddlers should select “bus ride” when you register for the race and indicate if your ski needs a ride.

Friends and family are welcome to register for the shuttle – please contact Helen Workman for details.

Friday check in and pasta dinner

Check in on Friday and stay for a pasta dinner sponsored by Tierra Divina Winery, Stonestreet Winery, and Wavechaser.

Racers, guests, and volunteers are welcome from 5:30 to 8 pm on Friday, August 12 at the OCSC Sailing Club. The OCSC is a short walk from the Berkeley Marina Doubletree Hotel. Here are driving directions.

About Wavechaser Paddle Series:

First Established in 2002, the WaveChaser Paddle Series has become Northern California’s premier racing series for human-powered watercraft including outriggers, surfskis, kayaks, and paddleboards. The goal of the series is to promote the awareness of the sport to the greater Northern California community. WaveChaser sponsors several races in the San Francisco Bay area designed to offer competition from novice through expert paddlers, and foster respect and appreciation of our coastal waters.
